Eurasian Collared Dove
This Collared Dove frequents our garden when he's allowed to; he's the frequent victim of assault by the 'garden bully' (Wood Pigeon - see a previous blip).
If you look closely you can see that his beak is bent. This was the result of an assault on his life by a Sparrowhawk that uses the garden as a regular and convenient 'takeaway' joint. He was attacked and flew into the house side bending his beak in the process but, as you can see, he is still alive. Other birds are not so fortunate, especially the Blackbirds and House Sparrows.
He has had a go at the 'garden bully' but he proved too much and the attack was aborted.
