I think I've recovered.

Had one of those don't want to do this moments, recurring today. Why would I put effort in to a half year review for a company I'm leaving? Then the guy did it for me, I liked it so asked him if he would put it on LinkedIn for me. The bribe was that if I filled in the performance record he'd do it.

So I tried to do a cackhanded job (Bombay Style) but got enthused and did it properly. And enjoyed it! Then he told me you can't add endorsements unsolicited on LI. The person has to ask you, so I went in to find out how to do that and found you can blanket ask everybody you know. The times I've been asked to endorse I always assumed it was a special request.

Now I'm thinking some people collect recommendations like others collect friends on FaceBook.

And I got offered a job. On the basis of how I performed in a pretty much unrelated role years ago. Apparently I am reliable. Now, provided I'm sure I'm not gonna let them down, I feel like I should take this opportunity.
