It's All the Same
During the two days spent in London, I took over five hundred photographs. I took pictures of Parliament, Big Ben, The Eye, Buckingham Palace...all of the major tourist hot spots. However, the sight that really spoke to me the most was this demonstration in the city centre.
These people were on a small piece of ground outside Westminster Abbey. Some people had tents erected and I have no idea how long they had been there. The one thing that I do know is that England is just as weary from fighting these wars as we Americans are.
The Brits are tired of their sons and daughters dying on foreign soil, tired of the economic drain...just tired. It seems as though no matter where you go in the world, there is a commonality - even if it is something insignificant - that we all share. After all, we are all humans. I think the world would be a better place if we would take the time to realize our similarities rather than focusing on our differences.
