Guava end

My friendly neighbour yesterday gave me a batch of white guavas which this morning I prepared for cooking and bottling. It takes quite some time to peel them but the cooking and bottling were over and done in a jiffy.

On the one side of the guava there is this interesting end - inside it looks like the remains of the little flower..?
