Camping Round II

From Chicago to Des Moines we went.

Our second night of camping, and this time round the food and the fire was much more successful.

The camping still on the iffy side. The spiders are getting bigger and we are struggling to keep them out of our tent. The inside living quarters are spider free, but the outdoor porch seemed to be their new home. Getting in and out of the tent was an interesting experience.

The thunder and the lightning was frightening. We spent 2 hours overnight in the car dodging the worst rain I have ever seen. We thought it had cleared up so moved back into the tent only to find that 10 minutes later the storm started up again and lasted the whole night. I don't often get frightened, but this wasn't nice.

Not sure how we'll cope for 4 days camping in a row at the end of the week.
