It's a Family Thing

Family reunion today for dinner because my parents arrived yesterday. The total was 21 people and we split into two tables to fit everyone at the restaurant. Closest table in the picture was the "younger" people table, probably because us teenagers and ones in the 20s were there, and the one behind is the older people table, which my parents were sitting at (Haha)!

I would take the time to introduce them all to you but that's really not necessary. It's pretty much my dad's entire side of the family including his cousins, aunts, uncles, and daughters of his cousins. What I think is really cool is that besides my grandparents and just a handful of people shown in the picture, the rest all live together in that one house that I mention all the time. Great to see so much family together.

There was so much food; it was pretty crazy. More plates kept arriving at our table when I was already full. Good thing there is such an invention called the take home box. I'm proud of myself for trying everything that was brought to the table besides the dish I already knew I didn't like (shelled shrimp).

Tomorrow I'm leaving early for Hangzhou. We're only staying for a night and weather forecasts are predicting rain and thunderstorms. Did I mention that I haven't seen sun yet since I arrived here? It's been gray skies and rain the entire week. Nevertheless, I'm having a fun time, and it's one of the few chances I actually put an umbrella into good use.
