Pretty Weed
Snapped No1 Sons Cat a couple of times before heading off the visit the offices of an on-line photo magazine.
Yeah, yeah ............ I know - "it isn't BLIP".
But it was evangelical work.
They had never heard of Blipfoto.
They have now!!!!
Spent longer there than expected and then had a walk along the local canal bank and soaked up the sun whilst watching the ducklings, fish and miriad damsel flies (and not a decent picture taken).
In the evening we went to the prize giving and opening of the exhibition of this years National Police Family Album Competition (well worth a visit if you are in the area - the web shots do not do justice to the quality).
Unfortuanately this will be the last year it is being held as the powers that be within the police have not been forthcoming in advertising etc or in supporting it. Also sponsors have been withdrawing funding due to economics.
This is a real shame as it was open to family as well as serving and retired police officers and civilian staff ......... a real opertunity for Forces to showcase the skills of their staff and to encourage cross border relations.
It also meant that complete amatuers could compete with full time pros - and win as they often did.
Another case of the narrow minded attitude of the senior officers throughout the country .......... if it isn't doing something for the crime figures, it isn't worth doing anything about....... which undermines the moral of staff.
And NO ... neither myself or No1 son won anything this year (but we have for the last 6 years since I started taking part so I can't complain).
