Castlerigg Stone Circle.

Castlerigg was our first port of call today. This wonderful 5000 year old pre-historic site attracts large numbers of visitors including groups of utter morons who stand on, sit on or lean against the stones which are still unprotected.
It is quite unlike Stonehenge which has been made quite moron proof.

The Lake District is a photographers paradise particularly during weather like this but even in the depths of winter there is always something attractive to photograph.

During the afternoon we sussed out a nice place for a meal to celebrate Pat's birthday tomorrow. Last year she celebrated it with a swim at Inch on the Ring of Kerry, where Ryans daughter was filmed. Then some nice seafood in Dingle.

I hope the Lakes can top that tomorrow!
