Have just spent 12 hours sitting on a hard chair by a bedside in the hospital. Middle child admitted this morning with severe stomach pain. Under Observation tonight, with ultrasound and probable appendectomy tomorrow. Hated leaving her in a deserted women's ward all alone tonight. Guilty and miserable.
