I think you are really fit

Tonight was School Prize Giving. The Parish Church was full to overflowing.... well that is a slight exaggeration - downstairs was full, to capacity, the rear balcony was full, and the two side balconies had a few of us.

To say that it was bum numbing was no exaggeration however. We got into our seats about 6.45, and the Head started about 7, and finished about 7.30, seriously - he just read the school calendar I think. There was no emotion, there was no logic to the sequence. He jumped from Football to Maths, To Hockey, to Science, to Maths, to Rugby, to Volleyball (which he thinks is Basketball).

Half way through it I had lost the will to live. I had started to pull back the little curtains, which cover the ornate carving on the balcony so that the unfortunates below don't get a full view up someones skirt! And was waving and pulling faces through it to my daugher and all her year sitting opposite and below. I have the mentality of a 10 year old when placed in surroundings like that.

Daughter was 4th Year Prizes, which came after, 1st Year, Merit and Progress, at least 3 for each class of which there were ten off. Then Same for Second, and third. Then it was Daughter - Merit for Placing in two subjects. Last year she got distinction.... for several subjects, next year, both we and she are expecting Multiple distinctions.

Then followed the Sports Achievements, again Daughter back up for being Captain of a winning Volleyball Squad , (this photo is only the Volleyball prizewinners), and then as Most Valuable Player. However, there were also 3,000 Other kids being awarded sports prizes, and we had to clap EVERY SINGLE one of them. I had to keep putting my crochet down!!

However, I thought the picture which was the best of the evening, was this one. This is Toolie, PUTTING ON HER MASCARA while we were driving to the Church hall. You will notice from the outside of the car, we were moving at speed and she couldn't see what was so crazy about trying to apply make up while the car was driving!

Crazy Girl - But we are very proud of her!
