Donita's Daily Dose

Excercise No. 1-3

I found the first of the oak galls today. I found three different kinds, but there were not many, and I was only able to get a decent photo of one. It doesn't fit into my self-imposed assignment this week and it isn't a particularly good specimen, but I wanted to record this first sighting in my journal. I'm hoping it's just too early and that there will be more opportunities for photos later in the summer.

Today's blip was taken in the Shell Ridge Open Space. I went to check out the burned area from down below (not showing here). There is much more damage to the trees on the ridge than there appeared to be Sunday when I hiked to the top.
