ABC League

Not everyone in England was watching the World Cup on TV tonight. The men from our village chose to watch the ladies play their ABC League matches. Not a bad choice as it turned out.

The ABC League format is each team has a team of ladies and a team of men two from your ladies team play 13 games against two ladies from another team then after they've finished two from the mens team play 13 games as well. At the end of the season all matches and sets are added up and some team or other is declared the winner, not that anyone really cares, but I thought it important that you understood the format, feel free to ask for further information if you're really interested.

Tonight our ladies won 11-2 and I managed to help the mens team win 10-3, unfortunately rather than then retire to the pub everyone had headed home so I found myself watching the last ten minutes of the England match - deep joy - watching the ladies was far more fun.
