Sunrise

Clear and frosty day. I went to town for my groceries. I left later than usual to give the road a chance to thaw. While the last trip the problem was flooding, this time it was ice, but the road was good. As I drove across the Plains the distraction was the magnificent Southern Alps framed in my rear vision mirror.

To avoid having to drive into the low sun I returned home early. I could see a great expanse of mountains north and south, but with the sun behind them, and the haze, they were not so spectacular.
