my tongue is tired from too much talking

i tried taking a photo of it yesterday but it turned out gross

this shone out against the grey of the pavement

it made me think of my tired tongue and a podcast i was watching about a photographer in san francisco, henry wessel. he says

"luck is impartial. you have just as much bad luck as you have good luck but you can do things to prepare yourself to receive the good luck and that's part of the whole process of photographing. if you think of the process as being receptive. you move through the physical world and something catches your eye. i photograph anything that catches my eye. that's the best reason to photograph"

i feel lucky at the moment in lots of ways

a good day of feeling fit in the pool, organised at home and energised by the frisky pre-autumn sun and breeze, a good lunch and good sense from jem, and children who enjoyed a leisurely walk home
