Memento #2
The Topsy and Tim book I used to read to the children began:-
When Topsy and Tim looked out of the window on Monday, Tuesday morning, the rain was pouring down. " Nice weather" said Topsy, -"for ducks".
Indeed, so no change there, and a very depressing scenario into the bargain.
However on a somewhat brighter note, the dinner last night with #5 daughter was a great success, and #2 daughter made it over from Dunfemline in time to chat with us over a cup of hot chocolate and cinnamon.
The paper presentation at the meeting went well for daughter #5 and she is now on the train speeding back to Leeds, leaving a houseful of furniture peppered with post it notes bearing the initial R. I hope they don't fall off before her collection van appears in August, or I'm in trouble.
A cycling friend braved the elements this morning to cross town and collect a bike we're selling. So far we have relinquished 3 with 1more to go, which will leave us with 3. I used to think you couldn't have too many bikes, but not if you don't have any where to put them.
The blip today is a desperate one given the soaking effect of wandering around outside. It is of another precious memento. This time a little box made and painted by daughter #1.
I promise you the winking elephant with the long eyelashes and other too precious -to -get -rid of items will figure in future blips if this rain continues.
