Milburn House interior

I had heard rumours of this buildings existence on many occassions but had not managed to find it, until today.

Milburn House is on Dean Street, leading down from Grey Street to the Newcastle Quayside. The building was financed by the Milburn family and constucted in 1905. Because of their connection with shipping it is designed like an ocean-going liner, with floors labelled deck-style with A at the top and G on the ground floor. When the building was in its prime it had over 100 tenants who employed over 1000 people.

I noticed a lot of art-deco style decoration, beautiful wood and wood panelling and to this day it is maintained to the highest standards.

Canon EOS 40D with Sigma 10-20 F4/5.6 lens. Picture 1: 4 sec ~ F13.0 ~ ISO 100. Picture 2: 1/4 sec ~ F13.0 ~ ISO 100 both used evaluative metering. This is an exposure fusion (not a true HDR pictue) which involves taking two pictures (one over exposed and one under exposed) and merging them together so that both extremes of light and dark are captured and output through Photoshop boosting contrast, reducing vibrance, adjusting curves, reducing picture size and sharpening.
