Laundry

Okay so Monday was Kitchen Day, Tuesday was the Front Room, , yesterday was in the garden. Today is a day of laundry.

Both children are at school full time, and I have the luxury of being able to stay at home - I'm proud to be a housewife. It can be a thankless task, but I think it is important and shouldn't be undervalued. I think all women (and men) have the right to choose whether to work outside of the home or inside. We decided that rather than buy a bigger house or a flash car that we would 'make do' and I would stay at home. I do sometimes feel I have to 'justify why I don't work' - given that our children are 9 and 7, so I do other peoples ironing. It gives me a little money each week - which envariably I spend on the family! So today I have my own ironing to do (with a further load in the machine and one drying on the line) plus two baskets for two other families. Its going to be a steamy day!

I've planned sausage and mash for tea tonight - can't decide whether to go for onion gravy and peas or play safe (and easier) with just beans... If I get the ironing done this morning I'll bake a cake for packed lunches tomorrow - the children have taken the last of the Millionaires Shortbread to school today.
