welcome

to my home!

(I just managed to lose the two paragraphs I wrote about our two day project replacing our old worn carpet and linoleum with beautiful oak laminate.)

so now the condensed version:
bathroom and kitchen still left to do.
trim was back ordered - should arrive next week.
not only is there some water damage under the kitchen from the old leak, but also a small mound of sawdust where the carpenter ants have been eating my kitchen from below my feet AND there is a family of raccoons under there too - I will need to wait the raccoons out and then reseal all around the foundation, especially the old access to the crawlspace and treat the repair with insecticide to slow down the hungry bugs.
The linoleum coving was put in by a maniac who wanted it to last forever! 20 minutes trying to remove 4 inches and my niece made very little progress. hmmm. not a good sign.

meanwhile, I love my "new" home (though I feel I am walking around my daughter's home in California.) and it feels wonderful to finally do something to get ready for the family reunion in July.
