grebe

We had a long drive on Saturday and a busy day in the garden on Sunday so wanted to get out for a decent walk without driving too far. We went up into Macclesfield Forest and did some of what we know as the skyline walk - not sure if our friend just made that up or whether other people know the name. Having taken a short cut down to the official car park where a chap has a trailer from which he serves very good "nice nosh", much sourced locally and cooked to local recipes, when we made our way back to our car, we were alongside a reservoir on which this grebe had made its nest. From the attention it was getting, it may be thinking that somewhere quieter would have been better.
I could have cropped the picture to get a better view of the bird, but liked the reflections of the sky in the water.
