Paper Mache

This morning after the Friday assembly and a trip to the pharmacy to pick up more allergy meds...it was off to the grocery store to pick up 4 pizzas for Liam's class pizza/movie/popsicle/popcorn party! The class was spoiled with a kick-back day after doing really well on their class benchmarks. I kept busy doing work in the classroom and it was the first time Landon tagged along to work in a classroom. I figured the movie 'Astro Boy' that they were going to watch would keep him occupied. He loved being in the classroom with the older kids and the teacher was very gracious to include him. The quote from the movie that was the most popular was Astro Boy saying "I have machine guns....in my butt?" That quote was the one talked about before AND after the movie! Landon did really well in the class until he saw his brother and the class go off to music class without him...and then the rest of the time he was a little hard to deal with to say the least :D It was funny seeing him play basketball on the playgroud with the big kids, though!

After working in Liam's class, we welcomed Loren back from his field trip to the Haggin Museum. He enjoyed the visit to the museum and his last field trip of elementary school, but seemed to like the scavenger hunt at the picnic the most. The teams had to work together to find something at the park that began with every letter from A-Z. He asked if his answer for "X" being Xenon was valid. I had to tell him to ask the teacher if Xenon is a valid answer for something found at the park picnic. We'll see on Tuesday when he returns if his group won :D

In the evening was Liam's last baseball game of the season. They probably had one of their best games yet. They will be playing in the Farm tournament several days next week before closing cermonies.

Then we were off to a graduation party for twins Alex & Cassie Grismore. We have enjoyed watching them grow up at the church and it's always bittersweet to see the kids from the high school youth group take that next step in leaving high school. They will be missed in the youth group...as well as several others who have graduated this week. They are both awesome, sweet people and their parents should be proud of raising such great kids!

This blip photo of the day is of Loren in his paper mache mask that he made in his Storytelling class. He was wearing this when he got in our van after the field trip today.
