Rain drops on the persimmon tree

Cool rainy day...

....a good day to read and write and cook.

I promised I'd help Elizabeth get a ride to Richmond for her bus to Baltimore tomorrow and offered to try to show her some of Richmond, having never been here before. Though I don't live here I jump at any excuse to play host and try to reciprocate back to others for all the times people have hosted and shown me around a new place.

I stopped at my parents on the way to Richmond and made dinner for everyone. I made dijon chicken simmered in butter and white wine. Basted with mustard and black pepper and garnished in capers. It turned out really delicious.

I met Mike in town and we all went out for a couple drinks at one of the local fan bars to catch up. All in all I guess I wasn't able to show Elizabeth that much of Richmond, or anything very interesting but it was fun all the same. The three of us sipped on tall pints of guinness and told stories in a cramped booth at the sidewalk cafe until the stroke of midnight.
