Used the Macro function to take these, and felt frustrated because it didn't seem to be taking clear shots, so was delighted when I then checked them on the netbook to see how well they had come out - not self praise but relief that the macro setting produces such clear images. I am so excited about this; when the photos didn't seem to be working I thought I wasn't going to be able to take shots like this without a proper macro lens. To be able to see such detail like the fine hairs (?) on the stems makes me very much look forward to taking lots more macro shots.
