Schiehallion
Late start this morning, as we set up Schiehallions new Millennium path (at least it's new since I was last there) it was already afternoon. The path makes the ascent fairly easy going apart from the fact it's uphill all the way, although I suppose that should be expected. Once the path runs out in the summit boulder field it's not quite so pleasurable, but we made it to the top to clock Mrs L's sixth Munro and the second of this week.
We did our best on the descent to keep out of the boulders descending a bit south before cutting back to pick up the path (Mrs L is photographed here taking a well earned rest and admiring the view). Just before returning to the car park we heard, saw and were even able to take a "memento" photo of a cuckoo - quite unusual for a bird that is so easy to hear but normally difficult to see. Finally back to the car which was now all alone in the car park - we were last off the hill, but on a fine evening that solitude had been an added bonus - magic.
