Another day of conference.
Poster session today.
To be honest - was a little disappointing.
My previous experience with posters at conferences is that there is sufficient time allowed for people to wander around all of them, and that they are usually a source of interest.
Today, the previous session's talks went 10 mins overtime, meaning the meagre 30 mins devoted to posters was cut down to 20. And, I would estimate that less than 20% of the conference attendees were at the poster session.
I had two people come and speak to me about my study, and that was two more than a lot of people had.
Sure, the studies are smaller and usually not as high impact as the talks, but they are generally work done by people early in their careers.
This kind of thing isn't a great way to encourage ongoing development of the field.
Lucky there are other factors far more motivating than the interest of colleagues...

Anyway... enough whinging. Have to put together the next presentation tonight.
