Slack water
It could have been another horrible public transport day stepping out of the house to hear and then see the bus going up the hill a good two minutes early but it was a fine morning and the decision to walk rather than (a) take the bike or (b) go back inside and drink more coffee, was good. The decision to wear cords and walking boots wasn't such a good idea. Not when the sun's already out at 6.45am. Still, glancing between the houses on Ramsey Lane showed that the tide was in and the water was calm so down to the beach for a walk along the front seeing what could be seen.
There was a fine view of Grangemouth in the distance, the white plumes of something stretching up against a hazy, windless blue sky, that would have made a nice contrast beside the dull rainy one from a while back.
The village itself looked fine in the morning sun but in the harbour this wee boat has been sitting for weeks with its plaintive wee 'for sale' sign. I've no idea what kind of boat it is or what kind of sail would fit on that funny wee mast but it looked nice bobbing there on the water with the sky reflecting around it.
