Back to the grime
Walking around the city this morning aching of leg and red of face highlighted the contrast between walking on hills and stumbling over photos and walking around the street looking for them. Down New Street and Calton Road has some promising photos so I'll likely be rummaging around there for the rest of the week but it'll need a tripod, which I'll need to fit into a pannier.
I came across Jacob's Ladder - a flight of steps connecting Calton Road and Regent Road and clearly a popular drinking venue, with plenty of empty vodka half bottles and even a pair of discarded pants (blue, men's, didn't check the size). Halfway up gives a nice view, which I think of as the landscape equivalent of my Rose Street back alley portraits.
A panoramic view of what lies behind the olde worlde facade of the High Street / Royal Mile right down to the railway tracks. There's such a lot going on here that it really does need to be large.
