Everything In It's Right Place

A saxophone fell asleep
next to your copy of The Stranger
and it never woke again.
I never noticed.

A grandfather shared an ice-cream
with his wife and next to them
I'm wondering how many hip-hop
artists will rip off Daft Punk.

I'm riding around my city. I'm running
away from my home, only to return. I'm sitting
still on my bed, still contemplating
my words, my last motions. I'm afraid

everything is not just jackfruit and guava
juice, delicious and filling. I'm afraid
of my past mistakes. And presently I must slow
down now, just close my eyes and breathe.
