The strangest things pop up at flea markets. At the brocante in the next village today was this bizarre still life on a blue tarpaulin. The seller, a grumpy man with an enormous moustache, was confident he would find buyers for every single item he had for sale.

Note: The carved wooden moulds behind the buffalo horns are for making spéculoos, a traditional spice biscuit.
