MAY FLOWERS

I tried to take a close-up shot of a chestnut flower, but the wind wouldn't let me, so I had to settle for this instead. I like the blackness of the branches against the spring green of the leaves and the bits of blue sky in the background, so it'll do. This cold wind and May showers bring to mind AE Housman's poem on an English May...
The chestnut casts his flambeaux, and the flowers
Stream from the hawthorn on the wind away,
The doors clap to, the pane is blind with showers.
Pass me the can, lad; there's an end of May.
