Heron After Lunch

We took some of our students for a walk in Golden Gate Park today, and we were surprised to see a great blue heron wandering around in the grass. We were even more surprised when it pulled a mouse out of the ground and swallowed it whole. The lump in this heron's neck is lunch. Quite an educational experience!
