Dandelions

As I meanedered today I noticed a field of dandelions. The interesting thing is that some of them had matured into the seed stage while others were still in the flower stage. I found it curious that the timing would vary and had always thought that they would mature at the same time.

In this shot, I decided to try to contrast the soft dandelions with the flowers. As part of the shot, I played with the aperture to get the background flowers soft enough to lose definition, but sharp enough to be identifiable. I am reasonably happy with the end result.
