Red Road - 12

This will be the first block to be demolished. Its empty now and just out of shot its fenced off so you can't get near unless you happen to work for the demolition company.

They are now working on removing the asbestos and other material.

I spoke to one of the demolition men and he confirmed the story I had seen recently that the demolition scheduled for around about now had been postponed. The company now have the contract for the adjacent block and it will come down at the same time. Likely to be just over a year from now.

It means there will be less disruption for the local residents by having only one evacuation rather than two. There will also be road and rail closures so reducing the impact makes a lot of sense.

Looks like I'll get a few more pictures before they start coming down.
