Govan Town Hall
One of my favourite architectural gems in Glasgow is the B listed Govan Town Hall. I find it amazing that right in the heart of Rab C Nesbit country we have this magnificent building.
It was built between 1897-1901 and once provided a complete suite of rooms for the Govan Provost, Govan Town Council, and administrative departments for the Burgh of Govan. It is notable for its French neo-classical decoration
It is now home to Film City which is a film, TV and post production facility.
The rock band Franz Ferdinand also used it as a hideaway and recorded there last album there.
