Procession of the Species
Today was the seventh annual Bellingham Procession of the Species -- "a parade celebrating creativity, community, and our connection with nature". People dress in costumes representing creatures or plants, and process through town to Maritime Heritage Park to dance or just listen to the music.
There are only three simple rules for the procession:
No motorized vehicles.
No words, written or spoken.
No live animals.
There were several dogs in the procession that looked quite alive to me, but nobody seemed to mind.
