Egg
I walked from Dingieshowe along the cliffs past the Point of Bizber, the Castle of Claisdie and the Bay of Semolie onto Rose Ness then along to the village of St Mary's. 'Castle' is often a name applied to a sea-stack here. The forecast was for sun, but it stayed cloudy all afternoon. Not great for land- or seascapes.
I'm pretty sure that this is a guillemot's egg. The cliffs were pretty busy with guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes, fulmars, shags etc. I don't think this has hatched but has been stolen and eaten by a raven, two of which were above me croaking away, near where I found this on the cliff-top.
