Cloud Patterns

Today was a very interesting day - weatherwise. For most of the day it would alternate between overcast sky and rain, to clear sky and most suprisingly, rain out of a clear sky! I would step outside to enjoy the brief moments of sun as they appeared and early this afternoon I noticed these fascinating patterns in the clouds. Within the same cloud I could see a ripple pattern similar to a sand dune and a cross hatch type pattern.

I spent the rest of the afternoon pondering at the forces at work within the clouds that created such intricate shape.
