Solitary Red Tulip
I was experimenting this evening using my 300mm lens to take pictures of tulips in the evening light. I was enjoying the challenge of isolating individual and pairs of flowers from the larger group of flowers in the bed. The effect of the shallow depth of field created by the zoom lens added a more dramatic effect to the pictures. Wandering down the back of the garden I noticed a single tulip growing amongst a group of purple/blue flowers by the greenhouse. With a little practice I was able to use the depth of field to isolate the single tulip with the flowers in the foreground and background blurred for effect.
Another successful day of experimenting.
