Day 6 - Langeais

Happy anniversary to us! Breakfast in bed and 6th-year-themed presents exchanged.

Drove to the town of Langeais - we'd already driven through on Monday but decided to head back as it looked lovely. Lunch outside in the main square, then a walk around the chateau (more of a medieval castle) which was my favourite of the week. Very atmospheric inside.

Back via Carrefour this time - right supermarket tarts we've been this week, also going to Super U, E.Leclerc and Intermarche. Brilliant they are though - sell absolutely everything. We did get our bread from the local boulangeries each day though - about the only shops in some places that have survived the supermarkets expansion - like anywhere I suppose.

Bottle of sparkling Vouvray wine opened to celebrate followed by a Chinon red, with moules to accompany. Some great food this week - local where possible, but definitely French.
