Sauchiehall Street
Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow's City Centre at eleven o'clock at night. On our way to catch the infamous 900 Citylink bus back to Edinburgh having been to the Glasgow Film Theatre to see 'La sconosciuta' by Sicilian born, Italian director Giuseppe Tornatore.
First born beautiful boy is studying Italian and, having spent a year living in Sicily, was keen to take me to see this film about an Ukrainian woman named Irena who calculatedly insinuates herself into the lives of a young, affluent Italian family. Throught the film, Irena's enigmatic past unfolds piece by distressing piece with bits of flashback.
A disturbing and violent movie throughout, I often had to take my eyes off the screen from reading the subtitles. Don't think I've quite recovered yet...
