More Life of Sands

Ruth

I went diving today with my pal, Ruth. We booked spaces on a boat running out of St Abb's. There were 9 divers in total on the boat and they were a really nice bunch, especially 3 guys from Yorkshire who were chatty, friendly and helped us with our kit.

The visability on our first dive was not great - about 2 metres. But there was lots of life on the walls - lots of anemones, soft corals and nidibranchs. It was quite beautiful.

It was the first dive I had done with my twinset (two 10 litre cylinders strapped together) for a while and Ruth had a new drysuit and a new buoyancy jacket.........so we were both a bit wobbly underwater and kept bumping into each other!!

Our second dive was much better visability wise and I took my camera as well. It's the first dive I have taken it on so I'm still getting used to using it with the waterproof housing and it all feels very different from my old one!

This is Ruth at the surface just as we got into the water for the second dive. We really enjoyed this one. We saw a couple of fish and there were a few crabs and lobsters about too.

It was a really lovely day and the gorgeous weather we had made it even better.
