Spring! Clean!

Some old friends are in Edinburgh for the weekend and are coming round shortly. It'll be lovely to see them and to meet their two small children for the first time; but their visit made us realise the urgent necessity for a major tidying and cleaning of the flat. Amazing the amount of dust and detritus that can accumulate - maybe it's been longer than I realised. :-(

But it was the first day this year when we've been comfortable with the windows open. Lovely - fresh air, birds tweeting outside in the sunshine and when I leaned out of the window to shake out my feather duster I saw these bright yellow-green sprays on a tree. They're probably flowers rather than leaves, but all welcome!
