Lyra's first swim

We took Lyra swimming for the first time today. She didn't hate it - but I think it's fair to say she didn't love it either - she mainly just did her 'too busy taking in new surroundings to smile or interact' face - though by the end she had started to have a better time.

She had quite good fun splashing. She seemed to like splashing, but not like it when her face got splashed: she didn't work out the connection between the two so she was kind of half joyous and half distraught with each splash...

This photo is what is known in the trade as the best of a bad bunch... not being allowed to take photographs at the pool (I was 'texting' at this point) mixed with an ambivalent baby meant that today I was far from David Bailey.
