Double set of horns

These Longhorn cows were observing the dogs and I as we jogged by in the snow on the second day of our anniversary trip. We were running uphill on a mountain road in the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway. My better half was on his motorcycle! A local cattle company runs cows in this area. Many of the cows had calves. I wonder how many of the youngsters the predators have for a meal or maybe the cows can protect them. On our first night there we saw a bobcat on Joseph Creek. I tried to snap a photo but the elusive feline crossed the creek on a log and was quickly out of sight. It was thrilling as it was our first "live" bobcat sighting.
