"Trees!"

I used to babysit a little girl who called broccoli "trees"! It was so cute.'

This is one of the new vegetables in our garden. I should show case some of them through summer and watch them grow. We've never grown broccoli before. Anyone have any helpful hints?


Ben was at the doctor's office again today. Now he's on steroids and antibiotics. The rash is getting worse, itching getting worse. Poor baby! The doctor took blood so we can see if we are missing anything. (That was an ordeal in itself - cost me $25 in Legos & an cherry Icee to bribe him after he ran down the hall and locked himself in the bathroom!) Heck, I've spent over $500 already on medication and doctors visits, what's another $25?

I had bunco night tonight! Was so tired, I wasn't sure I'd make it there....but I found some energy somewhere and had a great time! My dear friend April (yes, that's her name!) is an exceptional cook! She treated us to filet mignon, twice baked potatoes (spared no cream, butter, or cheese! to die for!), her fabulous garlicky shrimp appetizers, and a tasty butter lettuce salad. She kept apoligizing for dinner taking too long - well worth the wait - and she forgot dessert - we had no room anyway! I had a bit of everything and not to much of anything. And seconds on the fresh, juicy strawberries!

And to top it off, I won $30 for most baby buncos! That should cover part of a massage next week! :P
