Put a fork in me....

I'm done!

Almost anyway.

Long day today - attended a training day on Safeguarding/Safer recruitment. It is not a course that I could say I enjoyed, because some of the content was disturbing and upsetting. But it was valuable and for the first time in a while I actually really did learn something new and it was not a waste of my day.

HOWEVER

I was astounded at the number of apparently very stupid people that could be placed in one room today. People who completely missed the point. People who considered it perfectly acceptable to talk continually whilst the course was being delivered. Others who clearly liked nothing better than the sound of their own voice and wanted to make sure that we all benefitted from it too.

Lunch was rubbish. The squid of despair came and got me around 2pm when a woman on my table started wittering on to the whole assembled group - I can't remember what she was going on about, but I do remember that after about a minute (which felt like an hour) of listening to inarticulate ramblings, I actually turned around in my chair, put my back to her and put my head in my hands and groaned. How rude am I?! Very!

BUT

I did get full marks on my assessment (and I did it properly - no cheating). Yay.

I missed work though.

Got home at 5.20, quick brew and then out to Parents' evening. James is doing well. We have set him a couple of targets - to make sure he completes all of his work and that his written presentation improves but otherwise everything is grand.

So, for a treat, I took Coz and James to the Spice Lounge and we had ridiculously large amounts of wonderful Indian food. My hot curry didn't feel so hot after I ate a whole chilli (by accident!). As usual the staff were wonderful and the food outstanding. It's two hours since we ate and I am still stuffed to the gills.

Early night for me. Last day of term tomorrow. Then the final countdown begins ....tick tock!
