Dancing out of line
Unlike so many of the family and friends, Angie didn't celebrate a round or jubilee birthday today. So the normal routine for her. Work, work, work, cleaning caked horse, ride out with dogs, vacuuming, making a cake, decorating the house, preparing food & drink........
And then in the afternoon, friends and family started to roll in while the landline and mobile phones glowed with calls and messages. Good friends XYZ & ABC arrived first and as previously arranged, the three of them along with our dogs and theirs,K9, went for a walk to take a break from the hectic and telephones.
Just as they got back, sister Brigitte, with daughter Steffi and friend Maria arrived. Maria is as good as family having been part of our life for much of the last 20 years. Sadly middle sister Sigi was unwell and couldn't make it with hubby Gerhard. Later Brigitte's younger daughter also came by with a friend. They were there as I was about to do the horses' bedding so didn't get much chance to speak to them and they had to leave earlier to get back to Munich.
As always started with coffee and cake, quickly followed by sekt and then stuffing all sorts of traditional christmas biscuits and goodies before a warm evening snack of Bavarian Leberkäs or Liver cheese, which contains neither liver or cheese and Brezn (Pretzl), Glühwein (Glow Wine or in this case they demolished a bottle of so called Vorglühwein, a pre-glow variation taking it's name from what you do when starting a diesel engine).
Ended up being a late night but luckily Angie had managed to get a days holiday for Monday.
Maybe next year we might find a special reason to celebrate.
Thanks Angie for all your hard work on "Your" day.
