Mmm chocolate

We've enjoyed a very relaxing Saturday mostly spent lazing around the house blogging, reading, playing music, and phoning friends and family. I even went for a run for the first time since 27th November!

In the evening we popped down the road for a wonderful dinner hosted by alfthomas and ArcLight, with four other guests including Ridgeback13. We worked our way through a marvellous meal of chestnut and apple soup, pan-fried venison, and panna cotta with black cherries.

Our conversation covered (amongst other things) mudbaths, marathon running, charlatan academics, celebrities that we would like to meet (Jimmy Page for one person), celebrities that we have met (also Jimmy Page for another), hard North American winters, John Lewis, programming languages and operating systems, the Yorkshire Ripper, Birmingham versus Edinburgh as places to live, Latin, book groups and our desire to set one up (in all the spare time we have - ha ha ha), the geology of Iceland, Edinburgh taxis, and (of course) Blipfoto. It really was a lovely, relaxing evening in great company.

My blip is from earlier in the day when our friend J brought us these extremely posh, and delicious, chocolates at lunchtime.
