Hypericum
This is my Hypericum in its winter garb. I imagine some people cut these back in the fall, but the leaves turn a pretty yellow and the fruiting heads a deep orange, so I think they are worth keeping until the spring to prune. This thing will grow into quite a shrub if you let it. The yellow flowers are just like the wild Hypericum but the cultivar produces plants that are bigger and shrubbier. It makes a good show in the early summer and beyond.
We sill have not seen the sun and this morning we went to Kansas City to visit our son who is in rehab following a stroke about a month ago. I am optimistic that we shall see good outcomes but it is a slow old process.
Have a great weekend everybody!
