Low cloud

A wet day with 2 inches of rain so far (3:17 pm). The creek is really flowing and noisy. We can hear it from the house. Lots of standing water, but our house is high enough not to flood. Water comes in by the basement steps, but it runs out again through a drain in the southwest corner of the basement, underground back into the creek! The secret is to keep that drain open, which we manage to do with copper sulphate once a year.
I hope our Cumbrian friends are beginning to get things under control, but I fear it is still raining.
