Helen coming down to Edinburgh for an afternoon of festive loveliness has become an annual event for which we raise the stakes each year. It began with a cup of tea in Harvey Nichols, was upgraded to a quick drink in the Dome and this year became lunch in the Dome. As one does.

The sandwiches (no, we didn't go all out!) were tasty and the conversation flowed easily. In fact, this was a serious competitor against our first grand catch-up over hot chocolate in the now no more Chocolate Soup.

Between that, Sunday school party & rehearsal this morning and now Christmas candles & music as I study, the Christmas feeling is finally taking hold.

Oh...and this time next week, all being well, I shall be at home!
